Recognized as the birthplace of the Lone Star Flag, Montgomery resides in the county of the same name and is one of the oldest towns in Texas. This small community sits less than 10 miles from Lake Conroe and is only a short drive to neighboring cities of Conroe and The Woodlands. Montgomery County is on Interstate 45, forty miles north of downtown Houston in the East Texas Timberlands Region. To the north of Montgomery is Walker county and San Jacinto county, to the east is Liberty County, to the south is Harris County and to the west is Waller county and Grimes county.
