New Homes in Garden Ridge Area

City of San-Antonio

Garden Ridge is located in Comal County, about 20 miles from downtown San Antonio and 35 miles from San Marcos. Surrounded by beautiful Texas oak trees, Garden Ridge began in 1962 as a cluster of rural home sites and is now home to over 3,000 Texans, annexed from San Antonio and Schertz in 1972. The small, close-knit city of Garden Ridge offers its residents a respite from busy city life while providing easy access to restaurants, such as Figlios Pizzeria and Avocado & Juice Bar and entertainment venues, such as Bracken Store and Ice House and Regal Cinemas.

On the Northwest side of town lies one of Texas’ most beautiful natural cavern systems, discovered in 1960, appropriately called Natural Bridge Caverns. While there are plenty of activities to enjoy with the family above ground, such as ziplines, mazes and fossil mining, the true beauty lies 180 feet below the surface. Available to the public are daily tours exploring Texas’ towering underground monuments, cave ribbons and a 60 foot natural limestone bridge. Stay cool all year in this natural, underground oasis with an average of 70 degrees.

In this area, most students attend Comal Independent School District, which encompasses the greater Canyon Lake area. In addition to New Braunfels Early College High School (ECHS), New Technology High School (NTN) and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Academy (STEM), CISD has seventeen elementary, six middle, and three high schools.
