Perry Homes Champions Next Generation of Female Builders at High-Impact Houston Construction Camp
Houston, Aug. 2026 — Perry Homes, through its Perry Homes Foundation, recently sponsored and participated in the Women Building America (WBA) Construction Camp in Houston – a lively two-day, tuition-free event designed to inspire and empower high school girls to explore careers in construction and building.
WBA leadership built a robust agenda for the camp, combining high-level mentorship with real-world technical training. Young women stepped into the shoes of industry professionals, diving into sessions covering everything from property investment analysis and retail banking to launching a construction business and mastering precision tiling techniques. In addition, attendees heard remarks from Kathy Britton, Owner and Executive Chair of Perry Homes.
“Perry Homes believes that investing in hard work, strong leadership and the next generation of builders is vital to the strength of our industry and our communities,” said Kathy Britton, Owner and Executive Chair of Perry Homes. “Participating in the Women Building America Camp in Houston allows us to introduce young women to practical trades, mentorship and career paths they might not have previously considered. It’s an honor to support a program that so directly reflects our core values and our commitment to opening doors for women who are ready to build a strong future.”
Participants had the opportunity to put their skills to the test with a Hands-On Build Project. Working alongside experienced construction professionals, including volunteers from Perry Homes, campers took tools into their own hands to build custom outdoor planter boxes, a tangible proof of their new skills and confidence.
Since its founding by Bob Perry in 1967, Perry Homes has remained dedicated to supporting the communities where it builds. Through the Perry Homes Foundation, the company actively invests in local initiatives and educational opportunities for students. Empowering the next generation of construction leaders is a natural continuation of the company's long-standing dedication to quality and community growth.
This high-impact partnership between Perry Homes and Women Building America signals a strong move toward a more dynamic, diverse workforce, equipping tomorrow’s leaders with the tools, mentorship and vision to build what’s next.
