Officially incorporated in 1914, the town of Prosper is a small country town about 45 minutes north of
Dallas. Prosper started as a farming town and became a main railroad link between Dallas and Sherman in the early 1900s. Neighboring cities include

Prosper hosts several community events each year which are fun for the whole family. At the Prosper Community Picnic, residents are invited to bring out their families to celebrate Prosper’s rich history and small town spirit. Prosper also hosts an annual Christmas Festival which is the most popular event of the year. This family-friendly event includes a Santa workshop, plenty of food, rides, performances by local schools and a spectacular fireworks show to top it all off. Cedar Grove Park at the corner of N Preston Road and Coleman Street boasts a brand new walking and biking trail with plenty of shady wooded areas. The Gentle Creek Country Club and Golf Course is a private family-oriented golf and dining experience that is a favorite among locals.
